Are you ready to come through the famous Pineapple Dance Studios doors and unleash your Performing Arts Potential?
The aim of the adults performing arts course is to give all those taking part regardless of experience the chance to learn the disciplines of dance drama and singing, the course culminates in an end of term showcase for all attending at a professional London theatre.
Pineapple Performing Arts School have over 20 years experience in working with adults with little or no previous training in performing arts. We pride ourselves in the high standard of training and nurturing of all our students, helping them to discover their inner performing ambitions and reach their full potential regardless of past experience.
For the end of term showcase students are assigned dedicated teachers who will craft routines and scenes in preparation for the final performance. Every student gets the opportunity to perform, whether an absolute beginner who is starting from scratch or a more advanced student looking for a refresher.
Our adults course covers:
Our drama tutors are all working professional actors, writers and directors, with many years’ experience not just as actors, but also as teachers working with all age groups from our little pineapple chunks right up to the adults students.
The adult drama course is designed with two distinct parts. Part one in weeks one to four of a twelve week term, involves exploring some basic ideas and skills of acting – voice, physicality, characterisation and improvisation. In the following eight weeks these skills are put to the test as the group enters a period of rehearsals towards an end of term showcase, incorporating the drama skills learnt in the first few weeks.
It’s a very rare that our drama sessions doesn’t involve a good deal of laughter. We believe drama has something to offer everyone who comes through the doors of PPAS.
Our experienced dance tutors really know how to work with adults of all abilities, each week the dance class regardless of style, start with technical warm-up, focussing on basic technique to build up strength and stamina, every class finishes off with a choreographed combination / routine.
All the dance classes are structured around the abilities of the students attending the course and are always hard work but are always lots of fun!
Adult students participate in two styles of dance Musical Theatre and Street Dance.
The Street Dance classes are lots of fun offering a great chance to “work-out” whilst being trained in the latest hip hop moves as seen in pop videos and on MTV!
The Musical Theatre classes are all taught by West End performer / tutors giving our students access to learn popular repertoire form a whole host of musicals past and present.
Our adult classes are designed to encourage students to become individual performers, supported by solid technical training in posture, breathing, projection, harmony and ensemble work. The sessions are broken up into vocal warm up, technique and performance based preparation.
Every group works towards a performance at the end each course, including a variety of vocal piece in one of our musical productions or at a singers showcase at a professional cabaret/ theatre venue.
Past showcases have given students the opportunity to perform in front of invited guests of agents and a+r music industry scouts. Many of our students have gone on to become recording artists and appeared in West End shows, see success stories. Whatever you are looking for from the vocal classes we can guarantee enjoyable top quality sessions taught by industry professionals.

PPAS was the springboard for my career. I made contacts, got jobs through PPAS and most importantly still have a beautiful family of fame street friends from my PPAS days.
— Vedi Roy
So many new friends for life, a flatmate(!), confidence and support and the opportunity to do something I love alongside lawyering. I love assisting with the kids and pineapple Sunday’s are always the highlight of my week.
— Izzy Gregory
It gave me more confidence and belief in myself. Being able to try new things and opened my eyes to more of a commercial route
— Grace Davies
PPAS gave me the confidence to be able to sing in front of other people and not worry about being critised by others and the adults group is very supportive of one another and last show showed that.
