Laying the foundations for performance with
Children aged 5 - 11
We are proud to be based at the most famous Dance Studio in the world right in the heart of theatre land; with our connection to the studios and the west end we are able to offer all our students, regardless of their age and experience, an extensive variety of top quality dance teachers.
The Junior School classes take place from 10.45am -1.45pm (5 -8 years) from 11- 2pm (9 years) and 1-4pm (10 years) students are split into narrow age banded groups, They take three separate classes in Singing (Musical Theatre) Dancing (Street Dance) and Drama.
Our Junior school students train predominantly in Street Dance during their dance classes.
If your child has never been to dance class before and they are feeling a bit apprehensive about dancing, our street dance classes are perfectly designed to help your child gain physical confidence and raise their self esteem. These classes cover a wide range of Street dance styles including Hip Hop Popping, Locking, Old Skool, Breaking and House. The class is broken down into warm-up, stretches, cardiovascular work, across the floor and choreography.
Our highly skilled teachers will introduce your child to their own individual style and will help build up their skills to become a more versatile dancer. These classes are always fun and it’s amazing how quickly your child will become a confident, great little dancer.
Our drama tutors are all working professional actors, writers and directors, with many years’ experience not just as actors, but also as teachers working with all age groups from our little pineapple chunks right up to the adults students.
Under the expert guidance of a skilled and friendly team of tutors, our junior students will learn, through various theatre games, exercises and simple set tasks and improvisations, how to cooperate in large and small groups, as well as how to concentrate themselves, it can be used to teach simple skills of concentration, focus, and teamwork, they will begin to learn the rudiments of stagecraft – how to stay calm and relax on stage, how to speak clearly and at stage volume without shouting, and how to learn and recite simple pieces of text, as well as the discipline of being on stage.
Exploring drama can be a little bit scary, but it can also be great fun – it can even be both at the same time – It’s a very rare drama session that doesn’t involve a good deal of laughter. In short, we believe drama has something to offer everyone who comes through the doors of PPAS.
The singing classes at PPAS cover many styles from Musical Theatre to Gospel and Pop. Our tutors are all professional performers, many have performed in a whole host of West End Shows or have worked as cabaret or recording artists on national TV here in the UK and abroad. Not only are they experienced performers but all have many years of experience in coaching children and adults at all levels.
Our singing classes are designed to encourage students to become individual performers, supported by solid technical training in posture, breathing, projection, harmony and ensemble work. The sessions are broken up into vocal warm up, technique and performance based preparation.

PPAS has given me confidence to dance and make new friends. street Dance is now my passion and I love coming every Sunday. It’s the best place!
PPAS has helped me feel confident and talented when I used to be shy and felt I wasn’t good enough to be performing in front of other people. Now I feel confident and don’t care what people think! I’ve made lots of friends along the way. X
PPAS has given me friends and somewhere even being autistic I am accepted for being me. It has helped me be a better dancer
Love the way Pineapple are so inviting to everyone even though they’re such a well known prestigious brand. Also thanks to fiona on passing an audition to my son Ryan one time.
