The Pineapple building comes alive with excitement every Sunday afternoon as our senior school students (aged 11-17) start arriving from all over the country to participate in the three hour sessions with top industry professionals in all areas of dance and performing arts.
Unique to PPAS the senior school can tailor make the sessions to suit their own individual requirements, with options to specialise just in dance for three hours i.e. street dance or technical dance, or both, or as the junior school, participate for all three hours of dance, drama and singing!
These sessions of operate during the school academic term time, each term runs for 12 weeks. The first six weeks are to try out as many disciplines as possible before specialising with a dedicated tutor in the final six weeks as we work towards the end of term showcase, always held in a professional London theatre.
What we offer our senior school is very unique, with so many classes on offer for our teenagers to choose from we can guarantee that your child will get the best possible training and performance opportunities whether a beginner or more experienced dancer.
There is always an amazing street dance session on offer every hour for every age group or students can choose to take any of the following dance classes.
Musical Theatre – Commercial – Contemporary – Jazz Dance
Whatever dance style you want out of PPAS, the choice is yours!
The singing classes at PPAS cover many styles from Musical Theatre to Gospel and Pop. Our tutors are all professional performers many have performed in a whole host of West End Shows or have worked as cabaret or recording artists on national TV here in the UK and abroad, not only are they experienced performers but all have a many years of experience in coaching children, teenagers and adults at all levels.
Our singing classes are designed to encourage students to become individual performers, supported by solid technical training in posture, breathing, projection, harmony and ensemble work. The sessions are broken up into vocal warm up, technique and performance based preparation.
Our drama tutors are all working professional actors, writers and directors, with many years’ experience not just as actors, but also as teachers working with all age groups from our little pineapple chunks right up to the adults students.
Under the expert guidance of a skilled and friendly team of tutors, our senior students will learn, through various theatre games, exercises, set tasks and improvisations, how to cooperate in large and small groups, as well as how to concentrate themselves.
Improvisations in the senior school will be more challenging than the junior school in terms of emotional truth and developing well-rounded characters. With older children, it offers a chance to explore some concepts like friendship or loyalty; or they get a sense of other people’s experience by imaginatively “walking a mile in their shoes”.
Pre-written and even writing their own text will be introduced, they will also learn how to stay calm and relax on stage, how to speak clearly at stage volume without shouting, and how to learn and recite simple pieces of text, as well as the discipline of being on stage.
All seniors school students perform at the end of every twelve week course in a PPAS production held at a professional London theatre.

PPAS has taken me from a shy, unsure but a girl wanting to follow her dreams. To a more confident version of myself, I feel much better about Stage Fright, although sometimes still a struggle! But pineapple has brought me out of my shell. I feel my dance, singing and acting skills have improved. I now have knowledge about auditions that I didn't have before, and great friends from the terms!
PPAS taught me everything I know about Singing, dancing, Acting and performing, I wouldn’t be who I am today without those wonderful opportunities and that amazing training!
It has boosted my confidence a lot because of all of the shows and how teachers and friends have encouraged me, it has given me more opportunities because we get to perform at events and we can get entered into comps, I have learned how to co-operate with friends, it has boosted my creativity because of how many styles there are in dance and I’ve been taught about combining some of them
